Delivering pure bottled water is only the first part of keeping the people who use our water coolers healthy. The second part is to ensure the cooler is always clean!
Sanitisation is the name given to the deep clean performed on the parts of your cooler that come into contact with the water. Cleaning removes any possibility of any type of bug growth. When water is left for more than three months a film called “bio film” begins to form and this creates an ideal home for bacteria. Lime scale can also be a problem and our sanitisation system removes both thoroughly.
We place a ticket on the back of the cooler, and sign and date it each time we sanitise. Our customer can then check for themselves at any point in time that their cooler is up to date. If you have a cooler in the office, why don't you check the date on yours! It should have been done in the last 13 weeks.
The methods we use to sanitise coolers are those recommended by the BWCA and form an important part of the independent audit performed once a year on its members. This ensures both quality and method are absolutely impeccable. Renting a cooler from a BWCA member can form part of your risk assessment! Our rental prices always include the cost of santising the cooler, because we don't believe in allowing anybody to have a cooler without it being clean.
However, taps and bottle tops are susceptible to bacterial growth in between visits. This is especially true in hospitals, care homes, schools and nurseries, in fact anywhere where you have the young, elderly, vulnerable or general public using the cooler.
